Your Pet Friendly Vacation Rental in Santa Fe

Casa de Alma is a pet-friendly Santa Fe vacation rental, catering to those discriminating travelers who wish to bring their well-behaved pets. Our home is set up beautifully for dogs (limit of two) as it is entirely fenced. Your pooch can spend time on the private patio with the family or you can leave him in the separately fenced yard behind the home. Bowser will love to walk everywhere with you, as the historic district neighborhood, Canyon Road, and the Santa Fe Plaza are all within your reach!

Pet-Friendly Rates

We charge a pet fee of $25/night in addition to the seasonal rate. Confirmation of your pet must be made in advance of arrival. Any damage resulting from your pet will be charged to your credit card on file. We trust you are a responsible pet owner and appreciate your cooperation.

Pet-Friendly Guidelines

There is a designated dog yard to the rear of the property, behind the iron gates. Please have your dog use this yard for his potty, rather than the courtyard area.

We expect you to clean up after your pet. There is a “pooper-scooper” and waste can provided in the rear yard.  On Wednesday morning, place the bag from the pet waste can into a black garbage bag and place at curbside before 8:00 a.m. with the rest of your garbage.  Upon your departure, please take the bag from the dog waste can, place it in a black garbage bag, and put it in the enclosed area at the front of the property. 

Unless you are positive that your pet will do no damage to the house, we request that you take him with you or leave him in the rear yard.  Please be considerate of neighbors as most dogs will bark when left alone in a new place.  Also be aware that the drum coffee table in the living room contains animal hide that may be an attractive chew toy to some dogs.  The drum is a very expensive piece of furniture.  If your dog adopts it as his favorite toy while you are away, you will be charged for replacing it. 

If your favorite Fido likes to snuggle in your bed, please protect the bedding and duvets with a “pet sheet.”  They can be found in the Master Bedroom closet.  Bedding with excessive dog hair or staining may be charged against your pet deposit. 

If you would like a portable crate for your dog, please advise housekeeping.

Off Leash Dog Park

There is a great dog park in Santa Fe called Ortiz Park a short drive away from Casa de Alma.   At the end of Camino Manzano, turn left on Acequia Madre, right on Paseo de Peralta.  Follow Paseo until it ends and becomes Camino de las Cruzitas.  Follow Cruzitas a short distance until you see Ortiz Park on your left.  Pass the first parking lot and turn left on the next dirt road.  This leads to the parking lot for the dog park.  You may hike along several ridges and arroyos with your dog off leash.  Your dog will love it!

We are one of very few pet-friendly Santa fe vacation rentals in the luxury market. However, you would never know when you visit our home that pets have visited before you. That is because we employ miticulous housekeepers and rent to folks who are responsible pet owners. We will continue to be a pet-friendly vacation rental as long as our guest pets behave themselves!
