We encourage you to check them out, particularly if our home is booked or if you are looking for a different size, location, or cost of rental. In the past few years, many of these companies have changed management and ownership, so beware of historical claims of being "the best." None of them have the corner on the luxury market. Highlights of Santa Fe Neighborhoods

We are often asked about Santa Fe neighborhoods. They are an important consideration in vacation planning just as they are if you are looking for a neighborhood to purchase a house. Armed with a little information, you can eliminate a lot of rental homes that are not located in places you feel most drawn to. When you book a vacation rental, be sure to ask about location, if it is important to you. To help you get a sense of the area, please see our location map. Many renters want to be able to walk to the Santa Fe Plaza but don't understand that Canyon Road is also the historic heart of Santa Fe's culture and activities. Canyon Road is about a 15 minute walk to the Plaza. Depending on your walking abilities, you may prefer to be closer to one or the other. In this respect, Santa Fe is a little spread out -- but still exceptional for walking!

While various real estate websites give different names to different Santa Fe neighborhoods, we try to highlight the most desirable areas for vacation rentals and a flavor of each.

The Canyon Road Arts District is the heart of the Eastside of Santa Fe and is where Casa De Alma is located. Just across the Santa Fe River from the Plaza area is Historic Guadalupe. The North Hills area, rising into the Sange de Cristo foothills, offers some stunning views. The South Capitol neighborhood is charming, desirable, and less expensive than the eastside or the view homes in the hills. The Santa Fe Plaza is the heart of downtown and where you will find most hotels, B&B's, and inns. If you want to be outside of town, a lovely area with nice homes is Tesuque. While these are probably the most popular areas for rentals, you can find rentals just about everywhere. However, when you venture out of these prime neighborhoods, particular in search of cheaper prices, you end up getting what you pay for.
